Fussbunny is a personal mood journal. Your entries belong to you.

This policy explains how the Fussbunny iPhone app and this support website handle information.

Journal information

The app stores the information you choose to enter: moods, check-in dates and times, notes, tags, custom moods and bundles, and your app preferences. These records are stored in the app’s local database. The developer does not receive your journal through an app-operated server.

iCloud backup and sync

When iCloud backup and sync is active, your journal is stored in the app’s private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account and can sync between your devices. Review its status and controls in Settings → Backup. Your Apple account and Apple’s services govern iCloud storage.

CloudKit protects data in transit and at rest. Fussbunny does not promise end-to-end encryption for its current sync implementation. Turning app sync off does not delete existing iCloud copies or disable backups managed separately by iOS. The changed app setting takes effect after you fully close and reopen Fussbunny.

Apple Health

If you turn on Save to Apple Health and grant permission, Fussbunny writes check-ins as State of Mind samples. A sample includes the check-in date, mood value, relevant supported tag associations, and an identifier used to update or remove that sample. Your note text is not written to Health. Fussbunny does not request access to read your health history.

Fussbunny may look up samples it previously wrote to update or delete them. Turning the integration off does not automatically erase earlier Health samples. You can manage permissions and stored samples in Apple Health and iPhone settings.

Reminders, widgets, and app lock

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device with your permission. They do not require a push-notification server. The widget receives mood names, colors, and levels so it can display check-in choices; journal notes are not copied into the widget’s shared preferences.

App lock uses the authentication provided by iOS, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Fussbunny does not receive or store biometric templates or your passcode. App lock is an access control, not a separate encryption key for the journal.

Diagnostics

Apple’s MetricKit can provide the app with technical performance and crash reports. Fussbunny stores these reports locally and does not automatically upload them to the developer. They describe technical behavior, not your journal text. If you choose to share a report, it is sent using the destination you select. Apple may separately process diagnostics according to your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy.

Exports and information you share

You can export and share journal files. The recipient or storage service you choose then handles those copies under its own policies. Fussbunny removes its temporary export files, but cannot remove copies you save or send elsewhere.

If you contact support, the developer receives the contact details and message you choose to send, and uses them to respond and resolve the request. Please avoid sending sensitive journal content unless it is necessary and you want to share it. Support correspondence may be retained as needed to handle the request, maintain relevant records, or meet legal obligations.

Retention and deletion

Your journal remains in the app until you delete it or remove the app’s local data. Deleting entries or using Delete all entries removes journal records after any available Undo window. When iCloud sync is active, deletion changes can sync to the app’s private iCloud database. Copies in exports, device backups, and separately managed Apple Health data may remain.

Hiding a tag or removing a bundle does not delete past entries. Uninstalling Fussbunny removes its local app data, but does not necessarily remove iCloud data, device backups, or Health samples. Manage those copies through the corresponding Apple service.

This website

This website is hosted using Sites. It does not ask for journal entries and does not include advertising or analytics scripts. The hosting and network providers process technical request information, such as IP address and browser request details, to deliver and secure the website. Following an email link opens your email application; your email provider’s privacy policy also applies.

Your choices and questions

You can edit or delete entries, export your journal, manage iCloud sync, and change Health and notification permissions. For privacy questions or requests concerning information you sent to the developer, use the contact method on the support page. We cannot access or retrieve a journal stored only on your device or in your private iCloud storage.

This page may be updated when the app or its information practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
